Why We Started
Every family on the autism journey knows the mix of emotions it brings: love, pride, exhaustion, confusion, hope. We’ve lived it too, as parents. Along the way, one thought kept returning to us - what if there was a place where families didn’t have to walk this road alone? That thought became the foundation of Tamitos.
What We Believe
Our goal is not complicated. We don’t want to build yet another program filled with complicated terms and walls of information. We want something much more human. A place where families can learn practical ways to support their children. A place where they can grow together, with resources that celebrate strengths as much as they address challenges. A place where they can feel safe, surrounded by others who truly understand. Because the truth is simple: no parent, no child, no family should ever feel isolated in their experience.
How Tamitos Brings This to Life
We’re creating this “one place” step by step: Through books and stories that explain autism with empathy and warmth. Through merch and toys that are not only fun, but also sensory-friendly and symbolic of acceptance. Through events and community meet-ups where families can connect and share real experiences. Through digital spaces filled with lighthearted memes and gifs, showing that awareness doesn’t always have to feel heavy — it can spread through joy, too.
